Trust me, I actually do know what it’s like. So in some ways, I do speak from experience. (Though of course my experience does NOT speak for everyone!) And you’re absolutely right — there’s much we don’t know about the subject. What I was trying to get at was there’s not sufficient evidence for “brain chemical origins” to the degree to warrant that being our default approach. So I’m just questioning that default approach and exploring the merits of what I believe to be a very worthy alternative, though I’m totally aware I don’t have all the answers either — and apologies if it came across as a little too dogmatic.
